Low T St. Louis has dedicated the remainder of January to helping those who keep us safe. Last fall was rough in St Louis . . . nothing good came from it. Our city took a hit in many ways, including the postponement of a major fund raiser for Backstoppers, the Guns N Hoses event originally scheduled November 26th; however, due to the increased demand for fire and police protection, the event was canceled.
$4.5 MILLION RAISED
Started in 1959, The BackStoppers provides needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all local and county police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs and volunteer fire protection units, who have lost their lives performing their duty. Deaths from natural causes, illnesses or injuries are outside the organization’s scope. Guns ‘N Hoses is presented by the non-profit St. Louis Guns ‘N Hoses Boxing Association. Since its inception in 1987, Guns ‘N Hoses has raised more than $4.5 million to benefit The BackStoppers.
WHAT IS GUNS ‘N HOSES
“We are very excited that we have found a new date to host this annual event,” said David Stokes, president of the St. Louis Guns ‘N Hoses Boxing Association. “It wasn’t an easy decision to postpone this year’s event but, out of respect for all those involved, we felt it was the right thing to do. Now, we are able to properly honor our fallen heroes.”
Low T St. Louis stands with those that protect us. We feel the men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice deserve every bit of help we can provide them.
